The Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Councilor for Security, Teresa Focuberta, met today with the Director General of Relations with the Administration of Justice, Joaquín Delgado, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice, in Madrid, to which they have transferred several demands for improvements in the Courts of San Javier as the elevation to the rank of Magistrates to the judges of the judicial district of San Javier, and the reinforcement of the Civil Registry dependent on the Court No. 1 of San Javier.
At the end of the meeting the mayor, José Miguel Luengo explained that the municipal demands that seek to expedite and facilitate the procedures with the Justice of the citizens of San Javier and the entire judicial party, are supported by a favorable report of the Superior Court of Justice of Murcia and by the Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which has pronounced in the same way before the Ministry of Justice.
The municipal officials argued that the elevation of the category to magistrates would reduce the temporality of the judges, giving greater stability to the Courts of San Javier, favoring the resolution of cases.
They also raised the need for a reinforcement of personnel to the Civil Registry to expedite the procedures to the citizen.
José Miguel Luengo recalled that the claims of the City of San Javier, which were already transferred in 2017 to the Secretary of State for Justice, Carmen Sánchez-Cortés, are justified, also, by the peculiarity of the judicial district of San Javier that spans a population of 112,000 inhabitants that in the summer months reaches 600,000, as it is a tourist area.
