The Councillor for Environment and Local Development, José Luis Espinosa and a representative of Lane Management Ltd., Christopher Jové presented this morning in the municipality of San Javier a new pilot project linking the environment with job creation and to allow work five unemployed people who will take care of raking the beach of Ensenada del Esparto in La Manga during the month of August, the mayor explained José Luis Espinosa.
Espinosa reported that the operators, selected through the job bank of Local Development Agency, will receive a training workshop on the importance of Posidonia given by Anse, and that his job will be raking the beach in a traditional manner, eliminating impact of heavy machinery to remove the sea grass of beachfront to be deposited in rear areas with existing dunes to joining as a sand substrate.
Also collected, by hand, other inorganic debris that may be on the beach, and is destined for recycling.
The action of cleaning and environmental education and sustainable waste management is part of the campaign framework "La Manga please pretty" in light of the results obtained are extended to other beaches with similar actions.
Christopher Jové, coordinator of the project developed by Path Management and Environment Department, with the participation of municipal Local Development Agency and the Department of Beaches, said in a presentation at the same time intended to counter the loss of beaches caused by wrack and storms and improve the conditions of their use in the tourist season, in a sustainable manner.
