The Department of Parks and Gardens has done in recent weeks, a treatment against red weevil by vegetable Endo 500 palm trees in the municipality located in the Paseo Colón de Santiago de la Ribera, park Almansa, Plaza of Spain, and in the urban section the road to San Pedro del Pinatar.
This system, which involves injecting into the trunk of a plant protection product is distributed throughout the silver through the sap, was tested last March in the palms of the square in Spain with good results, explained the mayor Antonio Garcerán "so we decided to extend the same treatment to the main palm of the municipality."
Garcerán also noted the low environmental impact of this system to be injected directly into the trunk, preventing environmental pollution and any risk of toxicity to humans, could be applied at any time of day.
Councilman Parks and Gardens stressed "the great effort that the City Council are doing to combat this scourge," and expressed the hope that the endo "allow us to keep at bay the weevil and its effects save the greatest number of our palm trees. "
