The educational project developed by the CEIP Severo Ochoa of San Javier has been nominated as best project in the Multilateral Comenius School Partnership 2009 at the European level, while the school has been selected as an example of good practice for social inclusion for the last school year.
The award recognizes the value of work undertaken by the Centre in collaboration with two other centers in Italy and Poland, which joined forces to develop the educational project.
Comenius Programme aims to strengthen the European dimension in the field of education, Primary, Secondary and activities is included in the Lifelong Learning Programme (PAP), a program covering the period 2007-2013 and which has a budget of 7,000 million euros to finance projects and activities that encourage sharing, cooperation and mobility between education and training systems within the EU, so that they become a world quality reference.
Schools in the Region have participated during the 2009/10 academic year in seven Bilateral Comenius projects, aims to exchange educational experiences through the school stay living with host families for a period of approximately 15 days in participating in classes at the school concerned.
In addition, 39 schools have participated in Comenius Multilateral projects, in which several centers are associated with different countries to develop an innovative educational project.
These projects are developed for two academic years and professors involved travel to the institutions of the consortium where they exchange experiences and conduct educational seminars about the project work being carried out.
