Police Local of San Javier starts today an intensive campaign targeted noise control for motorcycles and mopeds.
The campaign will run until September 2 with intensive checks at different times and on any road in the municipality.
Environmental protection in noise and ensure the quality of life for residents is the goal of this campaign also seeks to respond to citizen complaints of excessive noise that sometimes cause this type of vehicle.
Motorcycles and mopeds that emit noise above 90 decibels will be frozen and may only be recovered if subjected to appropriate compensation certified by a technical inspection after going through the ITV.
The vehicle owner may withdraw it by submitting the documentation on the City Council which would also be reduced by the penalty corresponding to the minimum required by city ordinance.
Violations are punishable by up to 1,500 euros in the case of serious offenses, when the noise exceeds 10 decibels of the maximum allowed, and up to 750 euros in the cases considered mild, when the amount of noise on the statutory maximum is less than 10 decibels.
