European experts involved since this afternoon and until 25 September in San Javier on "Transnational Families Intercultural Seminar, a challenge and an opportunity" in which 150 people have registered, professionals and individuals interested in the subject of families consisting people of different nationalities and cultures.
The seminar organized by the Union of Family Associations, UNAF, has the support of the municipality of San Javier and the financing of the Ministry of Health and Social Policy.
Language, religion, education of children, culture shock or adjustment to a country, culture and new environment are some of the issues that may become a problem within a binational couple, said Juan Angulo, UNAF president, who presented the seminar this morning by the mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia and the councilman of Social Services, Maria Angeles Chum.
Detect these problems and propose solutions is the objective of this seminar will be based on the cases of Spain, Italy, France and Germany, through speeches, debates and workshops to be held in the auditorium of the City of San Javier
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia said "the opportunities presented to San Javier to host this important seminar dedicated to a situation that is not new in our municipality."
Pepa García San Javier reported that by 2006 there were 103 binational marriages, and 131 marriages in 2007.
In the next two years fell to 68 in 2008 and 66 in 2009.
So far in 2010 have been married 12 couples of different nationalities in San Javier.
The seminar begins this afternoon with the presentation of cases from Spain, Italy, France and Germany, after the inauguration to be attended by the deputy director general of Families, the Ministry of Health and Social Policy and the mayor of San Javier, Juan Angulo and Garotto Germano, president of the European Coordination for Foreigners' right to family life, with UNAF organizer of the seminar.
