The mayor of San Javier Pepa Garcia officiated a wedding "very particular", which married the local community citizens with the library of San Javier.
It was a performance of San Javier theater troupe whose actors, with the participation of Mayor itself, staged a royal wedding to reveal the level of involvement between the community and the public library.
The "wedding" took place during the International Day of the Library with a public meeting in the library, in which members paid tribute to the first center to open in 1974 who gave his first card over 30 years old.
At the same ceremony the mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia highlighted the role and activities undertaken by the library to which he referred to as "a local gateway to knowledge."
The municipal library coordinator, Tony Díaz referred to the current role of libraries beyond the old centers of reference.
"Today, libraries create habits to learn, is the library that goes to the community," he said.
The head of the libraries of San Javier stressed the importance of citizen participation and referred to two of the many services offered by the center "which nourish the community just as the market for books and literacy workshops in which library is only an intermediary. "
The Municipal Technical Culture, César Tárraga summarized the history of the center created in 1971 and opened in 1974 after passing a temporary location definitely moved into the new building now occupied.
