The Department of Parks and Gardens has launched a new treatment for endo against the red palm weevil in all the palm trees of Paseo Colon, marina and park Almansa Spain.
The plant endo involves injecting into the trunk of a plant substance was effective after the test conducted earlier this year, as has already been applied twice, with good results, in the municipality.
The Councillor responsible for Parks and Gardens, Antonio Garcerán explained that this system, besides being environmentally safe and harmless to people, "is what is allowing us to hold off the weevil and to maintain our palm trees."
Garcerán noted that "despite having lost some copies, the hard work we are doing is paying off and we managed to save much of our palm trees."
Garcerán noted the danger of spread of this pest so reminded owners of palm individuals required to keep these palms in good hygienic practices used regular treatment on them to avoid infection and prevent the pruning of these copies and generated the cut in the branches attracts flying adult red palm weevil.
