The flag "Prince Felipe" of San Javier is hosting this weekend the Championship of Spain of Greco-Roman Olympic Wrestling, Olympic Free and female categories Free Senior, Cadet and University will take part in some 700 participants from different points Spain.
The mayor of San Javier, Pepa Garcia, general director of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, Councillor for Sports of San Javier, José Angel Noguera, president of the Olympic Wrestling Federation and Aurelio José María López Navarro, and Chief of Sporting activities at the University of Murcia presented this morning in the city of San Javier, the championship that includes, for the first time the university level in which registered already 18 universities from 11 autonomous communities.
The senior championship all the more important of the season will be the first test scoring for the classification of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The test will feature the best athletes in Spain among the Olympians who will Maider Unda, Teresa Méndez and Francisco Sanchez.
The senior all attracted some 515 participants from 17 communities of which 363 are athletes, 30 national referees, 44 delegates, 8 presidents and other organization.
University Championships in Spain is the first time held under the impulse of the University of Murcia with the aim to consolidate to form part of the Spanish Committee of University Sport, CEDU, aimed at the World University to be held in Finland year next.
Championship where the University of Murcia participate with 14 athletes and UCAM with 1, is organized by the Spanish Federation of wrestling, the Superior Council of Sports, Wrestling Federation of Murcia with the support of UMU, the Directorate General of Sports and the city of Murcia San Javier.
After weighing and medical examination tomorrow, Friday, Saturday at 09:00 h start qualifying and qualifying rounds.
The senior final will be held from 19:00 pm
On Sunday the finals will be played college cadets and from 09.00h to 13:00 h.
