A total of 17 teachers of the institutes "Mar Menor" and "Ruiz de Alda, and schools" La Paz "," Our Lady of Loreto ", are participating in the seminar taught on school gardens during the month of April the Department of Environment of the City of San Javier, aimed at teachers of primary and secondary schools in the municipality.
The seminar consists of 7 sessions of theory and practice taught in the school garden of La Paz, San Javier, recently rehabilitated by the Department of Environment is already working on the implementation of school garden "Joaquín Carrión" , for the forthcoming year.
The Councillor for the Environment, José Luis Espinosa, explained that this initiative, which aims to promote the use of school gardens from their own schools, is part of the actions developed by the Department of Environment to promote agriculture green in the city, starting with the youngest.
Teachers attending the seminar will visit an agro-ecological farm so they can see how an organic vegetable garden on a large scale.
The Waste Management Centre of San Javier, located on the road Sucina already has an organic garden on its premises that the Department will integrate in the future educational path next to the municipal recycling facilities and other infrastructure related to the environment in the municipality.
