Civil Guard, as part of operation "CAST", has developed a research aimed at eradicating a number of scams being perpetrated against a commercial center of San Javier, which has resulted in the dismantling of the criminal group that carried out this illegal activity
Have been arrested five members of this criminal group, including three alleged perpetrators of the crimes of forgery and fraud and the other two for receiving, managing to recover up to 4 TVs and clarify when 15 crimes of fraud.
The Guardia Civil investigation began last January, to detect irregularities in the purchase of appliances in a setting of a mall in San Javier.
The first investigation directed the agents to a group of people who illegally acquired different types of appliances such as televisions, refrigerators and ovens, and later distributed on the illicit market, continuing the investigation to unmask the alleged perpetrators and trace modus operandi.
Modus operandi
Taking advantage of confidential information available to them, to be employees of the establishment concerned, began the process of acquisition of appliances by buying fake documents, which contributed bad data to avoid the payment of purchases.
Upon acceptance of the purchase by the establishment, not initially detected the alleged scam, receive the goods in homes set by the members of this band finally distributed it on the illicit market at a price well below retail.
After conducting a thorough work of analyzing the information obtained in the process of investigation, 15 criminal acts have been clarified, surpassing the amount of 15,000 euros in cash so acquired illegally.
Once obtained all necessary evidence and identified and located all the suspects, the Civil Guard officers located the five members of this group, proceeding to his arrest and brought to justice.
Detained
As part of this research has proceeded to the arrest of five members of this criminal group, three of them as alleged perpetrators of fraud and falsification and the other two as suspects in the crime of receiving:
- Spanish, 22 years and resident of San Javier.
- Spanish, 26 years and resident of San Pedro del Pinatar.
- Spanish, 26 and resident in Alicante.
- Spanish, 24 and resident of San Javier.
- Spanish, 32, resident of San Javier.
The detainees, the effects recovered and the proceedings initiated have been made available to the District Court at San Javier (Murcia).
Effects recovered
So far have recovered four television sets purchased by the criminal group which, after being brought to justice have been returned to their rightful owners.
In this investigation, the Guardia Civil has enjoyed the cooperation of all management personnel of the mall.
Investigations remain open, continuing with the analysis of information obtained, not ruling out further action.
