The mayor of San Javier Pepa Garcia and Colonel General Director of the Air Academy San Javier, Juan Antonio Ortega this morning visited the rotunda of Dos Mares, yesterday posted a CASA 101 aircraft donated by the Ministry of Defence to City Hall San Javier for public display, according to the mayor.
Pepa García said that the placement of aircraft on a roundabout with several entrances to the municipality "is a pride that San Javier is a city aeronautical tradition and really identify with the aircraft due to their relationship with the Academy and the airport."
The initiative came from the City Council, explained the Mayor, who thanked Colonel Juan Antonio Ortega the efforts "to make it happen.
Colonel AGA director, Juan Antonio Ortega was also delighted with the initiative.
"What choice for the aircraft after 30 years crossed the sky of the Mar Menor," said the colonel who explained that "it is the same aircraft used by the Eagle Patrol though designed specifically for the education of our students at 4 ° course. "
The plane that had caused low to keep flying, was repaired and painted by the staff of the Academy before transferring to the roundabout where it was placed yesterday with a large crane.
Located in the center of the roundabout on a mast tilted to simulate the flight, the plane, which weighs 3.200kilos, is visible from four directions of the city's busiest roundabout, which converge Avenue and Highway El Mirador San Javier San Pedro del Pinatar.
The presence of the aircraft at the roundabout above is precisely the aim of the collaboration between the Ministry of Defence (Air Force) and the municipality of San Javier signed on April 15 between the Chief of Staff of the Air Force by the Ministry of Defence, José Jiménez Ruiz, and the Mayor of San Javier, Pepa García.
