The Festival de Jazz de San Javier receives one of the great blues musicians, Joe Louis Walker, an encyclopedia of the genre that has brought her trademark guitar playing and a voice that seems born to sing the blues, as evidenced in his last album "Between a rock and the Blues."
An album that returns to its roots in moving between blues and rock, in the vibrant San Francisco music scene of the 70.
The guitarist, singer and songwriter, Joe Louis Walker (San Francisco, 1949), won several Grammy and WC Handy, takes back a long and fruitful career since the age of 8 he took his first guitar.
In its early years and worked with the elite as John Lee Hooker, Buddy Miles, John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite, Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix, among many others.
After a period away from the blues, which is closer to gospel, blues takes its roots in the 80's and recorded his first album as a leader "Cold is the night" (Hightone, 1986), the first of 20 albums, among which includes a classic "Great Guitars" (1997), where Joe Louis Walker brings together friends and guitar virtuosos who included Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and Iker Turner, among many others.
In San Javier Jazz, Joe Louis Walker will perform accompanied by Murali Coryell (guitar and vocals), Amar Sundy (guitar and vocals), Vincent Leggiero (bass and vocals) and Dorian Randolph (drums and vocals).
