The beaches Castillo, Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga Veneziola have been the first term of San Javier, to receive this morning the boats ordered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water for the extraction of jellyfish that have proliferated this season the beaches of Mar Menor in spite of the networks, as confirmed by the Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Antonio Marcelo.
The mayor of Tourism, who has overseen the work from a boat that has been made this morning in La Manga, also reported that the ships, operating daily from 06:30 to 13:00 or so, will continue for the rest beaches in the municipality throughout the season.
Antonio Marcelo explained that the City of San Javier is working "to the maximum with the Department by providing additional human and technical resources."
Troops of Civil Protection and cleaning of public beaches have joined the special device that includes the direct involvement of local boats.
These vessels monitor the state of the beaches to prioritize the work of collection of jellyfish to be coordinated from within the Department of Tourism and Wildlife in accordance with agreements reached between the partnership representatives of San Javier and the rest of the Mar Menor coastal municipalities and of the Ministry, at meetings in previous days.
The Councillor of Tourism of San Javier, Antonio Marcelo showed his confidence in a prompt solution to this problem "and to have all our beaches free of jellyfish and the best conditions."
Marcelo said that "the City Council is working a hundred percent to solve a problem that hurts everyone and especially the tourism sector with a government team that has a strong commitment to work throughout the legislature."
