About 200 volunteers collected 200 kilos last Sunday of plastic waste and about 12 cubic yards of construction debris, mostly large rocks, during the second cleaning beaches, rocks and seabed held in La Manga, organized by communities Puerto Escondido, Lider, and Balkysub diving club in collaboration with the Department of Environment.
The cleanup day that began at 10:00 h.
was held in Ensenada del Esparto area and surroundings and with the collaboration of other developments as Viñas del Mar I and II, III Zambra Residential, Commercial Panoramix and Mediterranean ports, as well as the Neighborhood Association of La Manga Mar Menor and various commercial establishments.
The volunteers were previously registered to participate in this activity, "demonstrating environmental awareness and commitment between the citizens," said the mayor of San Javier Environment, Celia Martinez.
