The mayor, Juan Martínez Pastor, the councilman of Culture, Inmaculada Garcia and Technical Library San Javier, Toni Diaz filed this morning's program of activities of the municipal library for the last months of the year that highlights the "Bookcrosing ", an initiative that aims to turn the town into a large library open exchange of books in public places for free.
Toni Diaz said that from next November will be drawn books, which have previously been donated for this purpose, major bus stops throughout the city where citizens can freely take them after reading them back at any point bookcrosing the municipality, that in turn can be picked up by another reader.
A bus stops will add other points of distribution and retail deposit books and stakeholders in the project.
The initiative works successfully in cities around the world and has an international database is available at www.bookcrosing.com where you can even keep track of any book and comments previously registered in the database .
The councilman of Culture Inmaculada García said "the activity of a living center and the library" conversation will offer workshops, creative writing, literacy for foreigners, multilingual poetry and theater workshops, comics, and poetry for children.
It also continues the reading workshop "A book a city" with the reference book "The green gel pen" Eloy Azorín, which will be in the library on Dec. 16 to close the workshop with their readers.
The book chosen for the second edition of this project has been read by hundreds of neighbors, and the IES "Ruiz de Alda" is required reading among their students.
Art exhibits, lectures through the program "You know what," Storytelling sessions, the "market of" concrete actions with students from the municipal nursery, and Aideman, and even a film series in the original Italian completes the offer of the library until the end of the year.
