The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez Pastor and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, José Jiménez Ruiz, accompanied by Colonel AGA director, Juan Antonio Ortega, discovered this morning a plaque commemorating the transfer and exhibition of a C-101 aircraft by the Ministry of Defence to the town of San Javier Dos Mares at the roundabout where it remains exposed "as a symbol of so narrow ties that have always united the people of San Javier with the General Air Academy," said the Mayor.
In the same terms were decided by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, José Jiménez Ruiz for whom the transfer and exhibition of aircraft represents "recognition of the Air Force have always been fond of the town of San Javier."
The Chief of Staff, Jose Jimenez San Javier Ruiz added that part of the history of the Air Force as the home where they have made much of its officers "at a ceremony attended by a broad representation of Municipal Corporation of San Javier and military authorities.
Colonel AGA director, Juan Antonio Ortega explained that the plane above, a C-101, "is the first production aircraft in causing low which means that it takes many hours of flight."
The aircraft, used for teaching in the AGA, has more than 30 years flying the skies of Mar Menor and is the same type of device that currently uses Acrobatic Patrol Eagle.
In the rotunda of the road crossing between San Pedro del Pinatar and El Mirador, the aircraft can be seen at a height of about 4 meters on a tower tilted to simulate flight.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez Pastor thanked the efforts developed by the former government team and especially the former mayor, Pepa García, present at the ceremony for the transfer and exhibition of the aircraft in that roundabout, by the Air Force acknowledged that its response and cooperation "in order to have this aircraft whose exposure is a pride for the City."
