This morning has been constituted City Council City Council Equality San Javier "active and dynamic organ, consultative and participatory especially to work for real equality in our town," said the Councillor for Equality of San Javier, and president Council, Celia Martinez.

Political groups and union locals represented in the City Council together to form the municipal law, Javier Gracia, who serves as Secretary and Vice President, Elena Bermejo, representing the Association of Women "Virgen del Mar" Cabo de Palos- La Manga, elected at the inaugural meeting of the Council held in the auditorium of City Hall, in which 6 have also been formed initial working committees.

The representatives of associations, schools and institutions of the municipality and legal persons have joined the Assembly of this "working tool for equality" have been distributed in the working committees, which will be dedicated to Rural Women , Gender Violence, Education in equality, social integration, Women and communication as well as mandatory in the commission municipal policies and actions for Equality.

The working committees will move their proposals and complaints that may arise in inequality to the Council which will address communicate to the Administration.

The proposals of the commissions, such as those arising in the Assembly of the Council will help shape the Annual Plan of activities of the Department of Equality, which will sign the next Council meeting scheduled for February 29, 2012 .

The Councillor for Equality, Celia Martinez justified the creation of the Council.

"We can not afford to seasonality with the achievements because there is still inequality."

Celia Martinez made a call to join the Council for Equality "for all have a place to work for the common good."

The mayor stressed that the work for equality should not be viewed "as a political strategy or a fad, but as the respect for the rights of individuals and legacy we leave our children."
