The City of San Javier is carrying out improvement works in the sewage of La Manga del Mar Menor worth 470,000 euros.
The works affect three pump stations and involve the renewal of valves and boilers, explained the mayor Utility José Miguel Luengo.
Luengo said that the work, which aims to ensure the proper functioning of the network during the summer season, when five times the population, affecting pumping stations No. 3 located in the km.12, Station No. 4 located at km.

Utilities Councilman Jose Miguel Luengo reported that these works are the most urgent actions of a plan of sanitation facilities and drinking water made by the City of San Javier in the coming years with works in the short, medium and long term , with an estimated value of 6 million euros, which will be released soon.
He also explained that his department while working in drawing up a list to hire a maintenance service best suited to the needs of these pumping stations for the coming years.
Luengo emphasized "the importance of proper and thorough maintenance of what is undoubtedly a great engineering work, but requires special care to preserve them," referring to the sewage of La Manga.
The mayor thanked the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water through the Water General Delivery Address "which is providing technical support and advice to the City of San Javier on this type of infrastructure and maintenance of the stations."
