Concert: Frank Harrison Trio + Alyth McCormack, John Hiatt (10/07/2012)

The Festival de Jazz de San Javier hosts this night to the guitarist, singer and American composer, John Hiatt, code-named Rock in recent years, and one of the most respected American musicians and influential.

John Hiatt San Javier Jazz closed their Spanish mini-tour with one of the most anticipated concerts this year, which will present his latest album "Dirty jeans and mudslide hymns" (2011) accompanied by guitarist Doug Lancio, and drummer and singer Kenneth Blevins, as part of his regular band of recent years, with the addition of Nathan Gehri on bass.

The moderate profile of John Hiatt, and its nearly 40 years as a musician with an extensive and exquisite discography, confer an aura of cult musician boosted its nearly 60 years with a sound that is rooted in traditional American music, more sober and emotional, which provides a deep voice that critics have related to Bob Dylan.

The country, rock, folk, blues, and all their iconography, are in the sound of this musician from Indiana who went to the music industry since the new wave, in its period of youth.

Albums such as "Bring the Family" (1987) and songs like "Have a little faith in me" gave him his greatest professional success in the late 80's, when another of his compositions "Tennessee Plates" was included by the director Ridley Scott in the Oscar-winning "Thelma and Louise".

In his compositions have their voice artists of all genres, including Bob Dylan, Willie Neville, Ry Cooder, Eric Clapton and BB King, among many others.

The English pianist Frank Harrison, with his Trio, will occupy the first part of the night, with a new proposal that blends jazz and folk with input from the Scottish singer Alyth McCormack as guest artist.

Alyth McCormack, singer usual The Chieftains, and one of the best voices of Celtic folk and traditional Scottish music, and worked with Frank Harrison Trio "Open Secret", an album that combines the word, poetry, song and music, which also included several Spanish and English poets and Rovire Pere, Meritxell Nus and Richard Douglas Pennant.

Frank Harrison is currently one the most promising jazz pianists in the UK.

He studied at the Berklee School of Music and on his return to England joined the band of saxophonist Gilad Atzmon.

Later created Orient House Ensemble with whom he recorded, among other albums, "Exile" as distinguished by the BBC Jazz Album of the Year 2003.

In 2006 he formed a trio, with whom he published "First Light", which was acclaimed by critics, and which has continued playing until now.

A Neogh Harrison and Stephen (drums) original members of the trio added bassist Davide Petrocca, forming the trio presented in Jazz San Javier.
