The councilman of Youth, Estíbaliz Masegosa, and representatives of the Local Youth Council, Facundo Sanchez, Francisco Belando, and Eva Peñalver presented this morning I Summer School organized by the Local Youth Council of San Javier, to be held 1 to August 31 next, free of charge and aimed at children between 10 and 14 years old.
The Summer School aims to bring together the academic and playful, so it is celebrated on the beach, on the esplanade next to the AGA, in Santiago de la Ribera, and offer remedial classes in subjects like math and English language in the morning and cultural activities and entertainment in the evening, explained Facundo Sanchez, president of the Council.
Facundo Sanchez thanked the collaboration of the departments of Sports, Youth, Culture, Public Services, and Training and Employment, the City of San Javier and Aidemar center, contributing to the afternoon activities, with sports, workshops, and games .
Sanchez explained that the project which has long been active in the Council has been made possible by a European grant administered through the Region of Murcia.
Belando Francisco, treasurer of the Council and one of the coordinators of the project, explained that the School was established in two tents equipped with tables, chairs and blackboards for remedial classes that will give 3 young college students.
Classes of 1 hour will be offered from 10:30 h.
to 14:00 h.
The schedule of evening activities, with 2 monitors leisure, will be from 18:00 to 20:00 h., Said Belando.
To participate, interested parties should only approach the school first thing every Monday to enroll for a week.
May also be added at any time they become free some of the 30 places available in the two groups.
Belando explained that although free, will be asked to provide families half a kilo of food received per class to be donated to Caritas.
During follow-weekend exhibition will be held, as a work of students in the use of Aidemar workshop, using the facilities.
