The municipal council of San Javier today approved a joint motion of all municipal spokespeople in which during 2012 was agreed to delete the bonus in December to the mayors and part-time and apply a reduction of 7 14% of their salaries by charging full fees for attending meetings of government and the other members of the corporation, equal to the bonus.
Popular spokesman, Jose Manuel Alart, who presented the motion agreed by the three municipal groups, said the credit released with this measure, which is around 33,000 euros, will be used to increase the games municipal social services.
The agreement also includes a 10 percent cut funds intended for political groups to those already previously applied a reduction of 40 percent.
Alart added that this agreement is secured and is in line with the action taken by the Government of Spain in 2012 to eliminate Christmas extra pay for public employees within the approved adjustments in the context of the current economic crisis.
