The Department of Social Participation Volunteering and volunteers gathered and associations which assist the Department in the traditional Christmas meeting to thank them for their selfless work throughout the year, as did Councilwoman Catherine Perez who was responsible for open the event, held at the center "Prince of Asturias" in Santiago de la Ribera.
The volunteer spirit reigned during the evening with a dinner of the best recipes cooked and provided by the volunteers themselves.
The Department provided chocolate buns for dessert after an evening in which the choir performed "St. James", and in which there was time for memories with a photo montage of a volunteer, Miguel Angel Benitez, with images of other volunteers and of activities in recent months.
The hall of the "Prince of Asturias" also hosted an exhibition of the work done in several of the workshops of the Time Bank, such as sewing, fofuchas, cross stitch, fabric paint, and even the reading workshop, that exposed, proud, and photo books Tomasa, a volunteer who learned to read and write through this workshop in the Time Bank at 83 years.
At the end of the night, each of the participants opened an envelope that was given to enter and containing a certificate of honor and recognition of his work.
Finally all Christmas wishes written on paper which is then randomly distributed to all attendees to leave with a desire to another volunteer's farewell match.
