The full City Council of San Javier today unanimously approved a motion to support the Platform of People Affected by the Mortgage of San Javier in adding to his request for a change in the law allowing mortgage payment in kind include, for So, in cases of habitual residence, the foreclosure by a bank assume full settlement of the debt.
The motion, which was read by the Mayor, Juan Martinez, and signed by the spokespersons of the three municipal groups, popular, socialist and mixed, also includes the request to the central government of the amendments to the Code of Banking Practice and Antidesahucios Decree, to address possible debt situations of people in a holistic way, without penalizing the credit future and avoiding unfair.
Also, the motion, whose approval was applauded in the plenary hall by members of the local platform, including the creation of a Municipal Committee involving all local groups and representatives of patients' associations, which will deal with study measures to prevent evictions and assist affected families, working together with other authorities and in coordination with the Department of Social Services City of San Javier.
