The Department of Environment began celebrating World Forestry Day, today March 21, in the school garden school "Severo Ochoa" San Javier whose students have helped throughout the morning to decorate the garden that does just opened one year.
All students, kindergarten and primary, shifts have spent one hour in the garden where they painted the perimeter thereof and a wall-planter, which borders a ditch, made of cement bricks which have also served planter to plant colorful flowers that opened to the garden.
The Councillor for the Environment, Celia Martinez said during his visit to the center, the value of this time to continue raising awareness about the little respect for the environment, something that is helping the school garden, which has the support technicians of the council "and a lot of dedication and enthusiasm by the school itself."
The teacher in charge of the school garden, Freije Lucia highlighted the success of this activity and general garden "which is very motivating and inclusive to all students."
The garden allows children to experience the agricultural tasks of planting, watering, and collecting the product, Freije said.
Freije Lucia added that the school garden has been integrated into the center as a cross allowing coexistence work, knowledge and respect for the environment, issues such as health, food, or natural sciences, among others.
Digital displays bring to the classroom allow the contents of the garden to finish take advantage of this experience which seems satisfactory outcome for all parties in their first year of life.
