Students for 2nd A school "Virgin of Loreto" City Air attended last May 28 at the IV Scientific Meeting CSIC-Fundación BBVA, held in Madrid, to present work done in the classroom on Hooke's Law.
The work of students, led by their teacher, Pilar Garcia, was selected among 16 projects in schools throughout Spain under the "CSIC in Schools" developed by the National Research Council, whose goal is to bring education of Science in the early stages of education.
The kids staged work with a representation of the statement prior to the discovery of Hooke's Law, giving life to the scientist Robert Hooke and his colleagues working in the lab where they study the forces, its measurement and the effects produced in elastic bodies.
Experiencing scientists would check the elongation experienced by the elastic bodies such as springs, is directly proportional to the force applied to them, fixing it with the known utterance.
The final selection of the school to participate in the IV Scientific Meeting began with a course that Professor Pilar García made through the Teacher Training Center signing contracts with CSIC on the teaching of science.
This course is made in Spain included the preparation of a draft work in the classroom, including a selection was made to participate in the meeting, which took place at the Palacio Marqués de Salamanca, home of the BBVA Foundation.
