The village headman of Santiago de la Ribera were the stars of the show which was held on Saturday June 15 at the cultural center "Prince of Asturias", within the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the town.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez chaired the event which began with a tribute to the people by graphic historical images and municipal File archive General Air Academy, which showed the physical evolution of the town, as well as their neighbors, customs and traditions.
Juan Martinez praised Figure disinterested village headman and his commitment to his people.
He noted the importance of having a loyal representative to serve as a link between the residents and the City.
The mayor highlighted the institutional nature of this tribute so invited to participate actively previous mayors, Josefa Garcia, Jose Hernandez and Luis Ros, in delivering the distinctions that were the relatives of the deceased village headman, and that village headman who attended the event.
There were a total of 20 distinguished the village headman, counting from the first officer on record, which was Isidoro Zapata Zapata in 1922 to the current mayor Julia Gallut headman.
