The Security council, Jose Manuel Alarte described as very positive for public safety the recent meeting in Torre Pacheco with colleagues from the municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcazares, La Union, Pilar de la Horadada and Torre Pacheco, in which agreed to strengthen cooperation between the police forces of the various neighboring municipalities, especially for the summer in order to optimize resources and gain effectiveness.
Alarte noted that the proximity of municipalities requires the collaboration and highlighted the case of San Javier Cartagena shared areas such as La Manga, and San Pedro del Pinatar in littoral and in the interior where there are also areas adjacent to Pillar la Horadada and Torre Pacheco.
Security The mayor also stressed collaboration as well with Guardia Civil, in the transfer of information such as physical collaborative actions that may arise with local police.
José Manuel Alarte highlighted the shared goal of all participating municipalities in improving the safety of residents and visitors, with special attention to the summer when the population triples.
In relation to the summer season, said that Alarte crowded areas particularly susceptible to some kind of conflict as happened last year in The Souk will feature video-surveillance areas, which provide more security and help curb unwanted situations.
He noted that for the summer increased its police presence in La Manga with patrols at different times to ensure greater presence of agents in the resort which is also expected, he said, a reinforcement of troops from the Civil Guard barracks Cape Palos.
The mayor said that collaboration is also a mutual desire, a necessity in a tourist area like ours, which allows us, along with the professionalism of our police forces, ensure maximum safety to our neighbors and all those who visit us at this time of year.
