Superior School of Dramatic Arts presents Murcia tomorrow Friday August 9 the musical "Locus Romanus" starring students of Musical Interpretation 4th, directed by César Oliva Bernal.
The assembly has the support of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia for the formation of the orchestra that will play live with nine musicians led by Ricardo Ruiz Blazquez.
"Locus Ramanus" is based on the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966) with a libretto by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, and music by Stephen Sondheim.
Inspired by the comedies of Plautus, tells the story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master, Hero to win Philia, through an argument full of tangles.
The plot, which connects to the Latin comedy and the comedy genre of art, allows actors to integrate different disciplines of their formation, since the creation of dramatic characters with movement and gesture to execution of makeup.
The mounting direction explains that it is not just a beautiful musical voices and choreography but is, above all, a work of actors who sing and dance but also actors that create types through interpretation and through characterization.
In preparation for the assembly, have collaborated several professors from different disciplines at the School of Dramatic Art of Murcia, which stages in this show ten actors-students supported by seven other partners.
The Festival of Theatre, Music and Dance in San Javier which is characterized by its support to theater Murcia, has signed with the ESAD a collaboration agreement for the delivery of courses parallel to the festival, presenting a show, and performing practices in various areas related to theater for Murcia Conservatory students.
