The Civil Defence Maritime Service has conducted a cleaning environmental action fund in Santiago de la Ribera where they have taken dozens of glass bottles that were in the sea next to the area defined for antimedusa networks.
Civil Protection Staff subsequently undertook to deposit the glass in corresponding containers for recycling.
The bottles, mostly alcoholic beverages, were located and removed a considerable distance from shore beach so they had to be thrown overboard from boats.
The Civil Defence Maritime Service reminds users of boats that are absolute environmental standards regarding the prohibition to throw any waste into the sea.
The cleaning action of funds has been carried out thanks to the cooperation of citizens after several users, who had detected the presence of bottles in the funds, report to the council, which immediately organized a device removal.
The Civil Defence Maritime Service of San Javier has appealed to boat users to enjoy the Mar Menor respecting the natural environment, avoiding sending any waste to sea or leave the islands.
