Making Attractive rural areas from the point of view of services and a marketing system of agricultural production more just, are, in the words of director of agicultura and Water, Antonio Cerdá, two of the factors that can contribute to strengthen the role of women in rural youth and incorporating a sector, such as agriculture, which requires a generational slogan with which today have been held in the city of San Javier the Third Day of Rural Women.
The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá and the mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez, inaugurated by the Councillor for Equality, Celia Martinez and San Javier responsible for COAG, CERES and Water and Earth, Maria Dolores Martinez, this day attended by hundreds of women in most of COAG and Ceres Land and Water, part of the World Confederation of Rural Women, CERES.
Also present were the Director General of Food Industry and Agricultural Training, Angel Lidón, among other authorities, and regional president of Women of COAG IR Murcia and CERES, Dolores Diaz, Murcia farmer, he received the congratulations of those present having recently collected the "Award of Excellence for Innovation for rural women 2013", awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, which recognized his pulse almond organic production and vineyard using labor from rural women.
The event, held for the third year in San Javier, organized by the Department of Equality, aims to give social visibility to rural women, recognizing their work, and promote unity and sharing of the problems that can affect them, such as rural women.
Two technical papers, a presentation of IR COAG women Murcia and CERES, a visit to a horticultural company and a convivial meal made up the program of the day.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez, acknowledged the rural and agrarian, as crucial to the town's economy, and the importance that women have had in this area.
Martinez recalled what has already been achieved in the legal and social, and encouraged women to continue to claim their place in the countryside.
Equality Councillor who also directs the Department of Agriculture, Celia Martinez reiterated the Council's commitment and willingness of their areas to collaborate, listen and respond to the extent possible, the demands of women in the agricultural sector in the municipality.
Martinez recalled world problems of rural women, which prompted the UN to declare a Day, 5 years ago, to put attention on desigualad and injustita situations for which measures demanded as a right to the land they are working access to financial services, water, markets and new technologies.
