The tent of Almansa in San Javier Park hosted last Saturday Family Meeting every year by the Federation of Associations of Relatives Murcia and People with Mental Illness, FEAFES, attended by 550 people from across the region.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez, and the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez welcomed the participants in the main event of the day with Juana Romero, president of the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Mar Menor, AFEM, the entity that organized the event this year.
Before coexistence food and prizes and annual awards of the Federation, the President of AFEM, highlighted the steps taken by the Association since its inception, as the Day Centre which already exists.
Likewise, Joanna Romero advocated greater visibility of mental illness, and help from the government to ensure the rights and care of the sick.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez, the mayor of San Pedro, Visitation Martinez AFEM congratulated for the work being done in the region both with people with mental illness as families, and ensured continuity of support and municipal aid to the Association.
Participants at the Regional Meeting began the day in Lo Pagan, with a chocolate, and various activities that led them to Santiago de la Ribera where they visited the General Air Academy before heading to the tent Almansa Park where took place the official acts and convivial meal.
