The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez this morning signed a collaboration agreement with the Parish of St. Francis Xavier, represented by the priest José León, and one with the St. James Parish, represented by its pastor Juan Pedro Fernández, through the which the City will provide 26,550 euros to Caritas San Javier and 11,450 euros to Caritas of Santiago de la Ribera.
The second agreement signed with the San Francisco Javier Parish refers to traditional municipal contribution for maintenance and upkeep of the Parish Museum will receive 11,000 euros.
The councilors of Culture, Inmaculada Garcia and Social Services, Francisca Naranjo attended the signing of the three agreements in addition to other signed and working with municipal entities, non-profit, in different areas.
Juan Martinez said the ongoing work of Caritas in more immediate attention "to people in need in the general economic situation of great difficulty that the public administrations must be especially sensitive to their work and contribute as much as possible".
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez moved that in the 2014 budget is expected an expansion in these items that will grow from 40,000 euros to 52,000 euros this year, in the next year, which will be split 50 percent between Caritas St. Javier and Santiago de la Ribera, each receiving 26.000euros.
The municipal contribution will contribute to the basic needs of the most needy through Caritas, such as food, clothing, and pharmaceuticals, among others, and the hiring of a social worker to coordinate actions in Caritas San Javier and Santiago de Bank.
The pastor of San Javier, Jose Leon thanked municipal aid that adds said, to her own parish and the generosity of the people, up to 56,000 euros of investment last year, which allowed to serve more than 1,000 people, with 40 volunteers.
In addition to basic care, Caritas launches promotion now two programs as school support, and health, announced José León.
In Santiago de la Ribera, with a fluctuating population, currently serving 168 families, about 700 people who are what are going to benefit from this municipal contribution, said the priest Juan Pedro Fernandez thanked, on behalf of the beneficiaries , aid through the agreement signed today.
Regarding the Parish Museum, the Mayor said cultural and tourist value of the same, with a rich artistic heritage which last year received 10,000 visits from January to November and 8,000 in December alone attracted by the annual Christmas exhibition, as confirmed the priest José León.
