San Javier celebrate World Environment Day, commemorated on June 5, with an extensive program of activities which aims to reach the entire population and for special smaller mode in order to raise awareness, change attitudes and promote cooperation to achieve sustainable natural environment explained Councillor for the Environment, Antonio Luengo, who presented the program accompanied by the Mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez.
The mayor, Juan Martínez said that the activities will be held from 3 to 8 June include new features such as the "Town of Environment" to be assembled during the weekend from 6 to 8 June at the esplanade Barnuevo of Santiago de la Ribera, with different activities for the little ones.
Martinez stressed the importance of working to improve the natural environment, thinking not only in the present but also in future generations, and the City undertook the effort in this regard.
The Town Planning, Antonio Luengo, assuming the Department of Environment after incorporating Celia Martinez to the general direction of Research and Innovation, said the scheduled activities will begin on June 3 a didactic journey aimed at local primary school to know the native plants in the park Almansa.
The program includes a healthy living workshop on 4 and 6 June taught by Maria Dolores Medina, in the library of San Javier.
Also will discuss "School gardens and education for food sovereignty" in a talk taught José María Egea, Doctor of Biology and Professor of Botany at the University of Murcia, in the hall of the building Multipurpose in San Javier .
The World Environment Day will begin with a green market in the plaza of Spain while the operations move to the association of El Mirador, with the resolution of a contest boxes for birds with recycled material in which worked the children helped by Pilar Rey-Pastor.
No shortage of storytellers Carpanta with environmental issues, or the photo contest celebrating its second edition after the success of last year, with images that reflect the natural environment of the municipality.
Finally on 6, 7 and 8 June, will open the "Town of Environment" with different activities to smaller, artisan and gourmet market in esplanade Barnuevo Santiago de la Ribera.
