The Autonomous Community gives green light to amending the Rules allow the transfer of defense housing in the City Air (26/05/2014)

The Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has authorized the amendment of the subsidiary regulations of San Javier to number 71, which affects military colony "Ruiz de Alda" known as Air City, which will allow the sale of homes by the INVIED (Institute of Housing, Infrastructure and Equipment of Defense), and their integration into municipal planning as a neighborhood over town.

This process began over 10 years ago reaches its final stage after the entry into force of that amendment with its publication in the BORM by the Autonomous Community which will give the green light to INVIED to present the project at City Hall land subdivision and development work, as a next step.

The Town Planning, Antonio Luengo was pleased to have made it to the end, listening and defending the demands and interests of the residents of the municipality and current tenants of the houses before the INVIED, that will take care of the necessary improvements in the urbanization colony, as asphalt, sidewalks or lighting, before either recepcionada by the City of San Javier.

With the new rules adopted, the City of Air, which covers an area of ​​376,000 square meters and houses 471 houses shall keep the same residential types (single family homes floor) and keep the same floor area, may increase only on 20 meters squares for garage or storage room, "so that speculation is avoided in this area," said Town Planning, Antonio Luengo.

The "new" Air City, will offer some changes once it is integrated into the municipal urban planning.

Several areas will become public and the school, located in the center of the complex, the old water tank, or large park with adjoining woodland to the Officers' Club, which is open to the public.

Sidewalks will also be expanded in certain areas such as school or church, not forgetting updating sanitation, water supply, lighting, widening sidewalks and driveways.

The integrated commercial development on the area will be maintained with the same use.

The amended rule also protects the numerous pines in urbanization in both public areas and private.

The plot known as "houses of the ropes" of about 30,000 square meters, located at the inner end of the development will be the only change its current state, because new rules allow the INVIED building tall buildings, which construction is provided so as not forming screen and be equidistant.

The mayor of Planning, said at this point the compromise reached with the INVIED for resettlement in other housing tenants who still inhabit some of the houses in this plot, many of which remain sealed today.

The Town Planning, Antonio Luengo expressed satisfaction at this point, after countless meetings with both neighbors and with representatives of INVIED, which owns the complex with a solution that includes the vast majority of the demands of the affected and ensuring the incorporation of the former military colony, in the best possible conditions to the urban fabric of the town.
