The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities supports the City Council and four schools of San Javier additional 25,000 euros for the development of various initiatives to prevent and control absenteeism and dropout.
One of these joint actions of the regional government with the council and the education community is the 'I Professional seminar the role of schools and teachers in school absenteeism, "which today inaugurated the Director General of Educational Quality, Innovation and Care Diversity to, Begoña Iniesta, and the mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez.
Begoña Iniesta said that since the government "we have to develop a joint work with the entire educational community for dropout prevention and more young people successfully complete their compulsory education and continue their training throughout life."
The meeting focused on the analysis and reflection on good practices carried out in the municipality, in addition to two workshops under the name 'the school change to social transformation'.
Among the measures implemented in the town, under the Plan II regional prevention, monitoring and control of truancy, are the training and awareness campaigns or promoting the figure of the local police, as support to prevent absenteeism .
The regional plan includes 53 measures with special emphasis on the development of initiatives at the municipal level in the schools themselves and the involvement of families and the educational community.
Among the activities is the development of local plans, as has made the City of San Javier.
In fact, the region has decreased by 14.1 points dropouts from 2008 to 2013, 5.7 points higher than the national average.
The schools in the municipality of San Javier who have obtained additional funds to submit projects and initiatives in the notice of the Ministry for the prevention of truancy are the CEIP El Mirador and Joaquín Valverde Carrión;
IES and the Mar Menor and Ruiz de Alda.
