Professionals in Education and other fields involved in the fight against truancy and dropout attended today in Santiago de la Ribera to a professional day in which the role of schools in truancy addressed.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez and CEO of Educational Quality, Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta, inaugurated the Conference held at the Civic Center Prince of Asturias Santiago de la Ribera, accompanied by councilors Education, Catalina Perez and Social Services, Francisca Naranjo, organizers of the meeting.
The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez emphasized the commitment of the professional schools themselves to complete policies and efforts made by the Administration to combat this problem.
Iniesta said Begoña truancy leads to higher rates of early neglect and emphasized the reduction of 14 points has been achieved in terms of abandonment since 2008, but still continues Murcia 3 points of the national average.
"We are not satisfied but happy," said the general manager who attributed the achievements to the role of schools, municipalities and the Ministry of Education, in developing plans for prevention and control of abandonment together.
Iniesta secured the support of the Ministry to continue to fight truancy and grants highlighted in this regard has received both the municipality of San Javier as different schools to develop projects that combat the lack of classes and the consequent abandonment of students .
La Jornada is part of the joint work being carried out by the departments of Education and Social Services, San Javier which already generated and a municipal Plan Commission on Truancy, which is part of the educational community and other areas involved.
It also launched, six months ago the Municipal School of Family on the issues that have their own families, related to Education addressed.
La Jornada today started with a table of local experiences on absenteeism and early school leaving, and continued with the workshop "The role of professionals. The school change to social transformation" that professionals were given INTER Group, dedicated to the Research in Education.
