Councillor for Social Services, Francisca Naranjo closed today at the Senior Center of Santiago de la Ribera the course of activities and workshops that have been developed in recent months in the centers of Santiago de la Ribera, El Mirador and La Manga, dependent of the City of San Javier.
The event, attended by students from the workshops and representatives of the three centers involved served to acknowledge the work of thirteen volunteers who have offered workshops as diverse as computer science, tai chi, gymnastics, memory, reading, Tibetan yoga, painting on fabric, and even philosophy.
Accompanied by the director of the Center for Social Services, Alicia Balsalobre, the mayor handed a diploma and a gift to the volunteers, who come from the Time Bank, and develop their work in centers throughout the Greater Municipal Volunteer Program.
Francisca Naranjo thanked their work and reminded growth experienced this year, students in number and workshops.
The mayor encouraged both the volunteers and the Elderly to continue on the same line for next year when the workshops will resume after the summer.
