Director General Colleges, Javier Lozano today visited the Official Language School of San Javier, accompanied by the Councillor for Education of San Javier, Catalina Perez, and the center's director, Maria Angeles Martinez-Abarca, in the round of visits being done at 6 existing schools in the region, since the general direction of Universities took recently, the responsibility for teaching languages.
Javier Lozano, who previously met with the mayor, Juan Martínez Pastor, in the municipality of San Javier, explained that it is a check for "in situ" installations, demands and problems of each school, with the goal of developing a map of needs commitment inlcuya address issues such as increased quotas, languages ​​and levels, according to the situation of each center.
The Director General of Universities adding that the ultimate goal is to adapt the LOMCE EOI, the Law for the Improvement of Educational Quality.
Also stressed the priority it has for the Ministry of Education and Universities teaching languages, and advanced the intention of the Ministry to increase at C-1, at least, the certification approved obtained at the end of 6 years in the School official languages ​​versus B-2 obtained at present.
The center's director, Maria Angeles Martinez-Abarca reiterated the CEO of Universities historical demand of downtown San Javier to incorporate the German language, "if only the basic level," and stressed the importance of maintaining the turn of noon, addition to the morning and afternoon, to facilitate teaching students with scheduling problems, increasing levels in this shift, with intermediate and advanced.
The Official School of Languages ​​was founded in 2001 as an extension of EOI Cartagena, taught in English and French and currently has 1,200 students.
It also has a Classroom Attached Fuente Alamo, who has already served one year of operation and, for next year, add the intermediate Basic.
Councillor for Education of San Javier, Catalina Perez welcomed the visit of the CEO and the interest shown from the first moment after taking skills to improve language teaching, praised the performance of the EOI of San Javier, and thanked the efforts of his team for continuous improvement of education in the center.
The EOI San Javier is one of 6 centers throughout the Region of Murcia.
Among all of them have 16 extensions, reaching 21 municipalities.
