The Full Council of San Javier today unanimously approved the start of record for the Award of the 45th International Festival of Theatre, Music and Dance in San Javier actor and theater director, Arturo Fernandez.
Arturo Fernández receive the award from the Mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez, following the performance of the play "Faced" by Bill C. Davis, which will be displayed in the next Festival on 20 August, starring and directed by himself.
Councillor for Culture and director of the International Festival of Theatre, Music and Dance in San Javier, Inmaculada García emphasized that this distinction is to distinguish its quality as an actor, recognizing his successful career in film, theater and television.
The actor of 85 years, born in Gijón, boasts a career spanning more than 60 years since arriving in Madrid in 1950 with the intention to pursue acting.
It started as a helper and quickly went to the theater for companies like Conchita Montes and Rafael Rivelles.
The cinema opened its doors soon with titles like "Do not covet your neighbor's wife" by Pedro Lazaga and "Toccata and Fugue Lolita" by Antonio Drove, among many others.
His character, as, for gallant has accompanied him throughout his career.
"House of Trouble" with Lola Herrera, and then the film or television series "Truhanes" with Paco Rabal, are two of his most successful works.
