A total of eight teams representing regional football associations of people with mental illness will be played tomorrow, Friday June 20 in Santiago de la Ribera FEAFES the V Cup, organized by the Federation of Associations of Families and People with Mental Illness, with AFEM as host association and collaboration of the Municipal Sports San Javier.
Councillor for Sports of San Javier, Carlos Albaladejo, and technical and sports delegate AFEM (Association of Families and People with Mental Illness Mar Menor) Pepe Sáez presented this morning in the city of San Javier the fifth edition of the Cup held in the town for the second consecutive year, Fisherman's Beach, next to the Yacht Club, in the form of beach soccer.
The games start at 10:30 h.
with two groups of four teams competing for a spot in the final.
Councillor for Sports, Carlos Albaladejo deliver the trophy to the champion, AFEM try to defend title after winning it in the last edition.
Participating teams come from Murcia, Águilas, Abanilla, Caravaca, Cehegín, Totana, Murcia, Cieza, Lorca and Molina de Segura.
Councillor for Sports, Carlos Albaladejo took to commend the work of AFEM in the county, "because AFEM emerged to fill a social need whose protagonists are people who at one point in their lives have been affected by mental illness."
Albaladejo was convinced repeat the success with which was held this event last year.
Pepe Saez, AFEM, said that with this Cup, competitions and leagues with a sports championship, which also serves as living in an environment like the beaches of Santiago de la Ribera goodbye.
Sáez appreciated the cooperation of the City of San Javier which provides all the necessary infrastructure through the PDM, and volunteer support through the time bank.
AFEM works with both families and people affected by mental illness with the goal of rehabilitation and improvement, as well as social awareness of these diseases.
