The fight against the red palm weevil in San Javier has been considered "a success" at the municipal level so it will be one of the municipalities, together with Abanilla invited to participate in the technical conference "Integrated control of red palm weevil Palm Trees ", to be held tomorrow Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 June in Torre Pacheco, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the City of Torre Pacheco and Cajamar.

San Javier pioneered by Endo treatment, which involves injections directly to the trunk and reinforced treatment plant leaves overnight.
This treatment was performed twice a year, along with sprays practiced about five times during the same period.
A direct treatments has been added, with special emphasis, public campaign, sides and regulations, with the aim of raising awareness among owners of private palm trees on the need to act in order to prevent contagion.
The Department has been busy advising citizens on protocols in certain cases, and advise on appropriate procedures.
Results are given for satisfactory, because although failed to prevent the spread and cutting specimens along the last years, most of the palms, such as the Paseo Colon, in the waterfront Santiago de la Ribera, have succeeded in safeguarding a plague that currently seems impossible to tackle permanently.
