The 144 new students in the General Air Academy today visited the San Javier Town Hall where they were greeted in the hall by the mayor of San Javier, Juan Martínez Pastor and part of the municipal corporation.
The students were accompanied by Colonel AGA director Juan Pablo Sanchez and faculty, which is his first official visit since his arrival at the military facility where they will spend from one to four years of training.
The official reception at the City of San Javier began a visit to the village which has continued with a floral offering to the patron, St. Francis Xavier, in the parish church.
Then visited other municipal buildings such as sports facilities, museum and auditorium and Almansa Park.
During the reception, the hall, the mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez offered a brief summary of the history of the town until today before emphasizing the historical importance of the AGA for the town and close relations between the two institutions since the creation of the airbase.
Colonel AGA, Juan Pablo Sanchez confirmed the words of Mayor highlighting the proximity and the excellent relations institutions with the City of San Javier and personal ties with the municipality of San Javier before an exchange of gifts .
The mayor gave the colonel AGA a boat lateen as a symbol of the Mar Menor, while the military presented the Mayor with an image of the Eagle Patrol Air Force, based in San Javier, which was delivered by the student's number one promotion.
Most students make up 70 Promotion of the General Air Academy, who will turn 5 years of training, 4 of which will elapse in San Javier.
Eight of the students are foreigners, 4 from L'Ecole de L'Air, France, and another 4 in the US Air Force of the United States, to which 53 students of the Common Corps of the 3 hosts are added.
