The mayor of San Javier Juan Martinez announced today that it will not repeat as a candidate for mayor in the upcoming elections in May and will be José Miguel Luengo, current Councilman Utilities and regional deputy who heads the Popular Party candidate in San Javier.
Juan Martinez explained that this is a long-considered decision that responds exclusively to personal matters.
Juan Martinez said that after 16 years in politics, 8 as Councilman Government, 4 as opposition spokesman and 4 as Mayor, "I do not feel the energy and the strength to face another season and another term, so give way to other people who can do the same or better than me. "
Martinez reported that after his announcement and proposal to the Board of his party in San Javier de José Miguel Luengo as a candidate, there was unanimous and this morning it was forwarding to the Regional Electoral Board's proposal.
About Luengo, Juan Martinez recalled that is young enough political experience, with an impressive capacity for work and perfectly qualified to continue the important work that has been developed in the town during these four years.
