The Center for Social Services City of San Javier has organized a training course aimed at gerontological not professionals, elderly and dependent family caregivers.
The course, which is free, will consist of 60 hours and will be held from 2 to February 26, Monday to Thursday from 16: 30h to 20: 30h.
on the premises of Social Services Center located at Calle Bernal, 13, Santiago de la Ribera.
The course consists of 15 subjects in which all issues related to older people as normal and pathological aging changes, eliminating false myths and beliefs, diseases of the elderly, factors causing dependence, prevention of domestic accidents are addressed, adaptation of the environment, and specific aspects of caring for a dependent.
It also addresses Alzheimer's and other dementias analyzing their characteristics and offering practical advice for care and care of a person with dementia, including the importance of caring for the caregiver.
The course is taught technicians "Intergenerational Solidarity" an association of statewide, nonprofit whose purpose is to provide care for older people in rural areas and support for families committed to the care of the elderly.
