The general director of Educational Quality, Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta and the Councillor for Education Cati Pérez today visited the school and Primary "Fulgencio Ruiz" in Santiago de la Ribera where they have met with the management team and the English department to address the possible launch of the bilingual program at this center.
Julia Samper, director of the college, confirmed the demand that exists on the part of families to start bilingual education in central and welcomed the visit of the general director "with which we hope to resolve any doubts".
Begoña Iniesta stressed the importance of advancing bilingual education, that the municipality is only implemented in one of eight schools for children and existing primary.
The director general assistance and facilities guaranteed to school if this is committed to implementing bilingual education.
Iniesta explained that the goal of his department is to enable schools to join this program, offering greater flexibility with a system of different levels of immersion that can range from a general subject in English, several, depending on each center.
Councillor for Education, Cati Pérez concurred with the need to promote language teaching from the earliest ages, and take advantage bilingual education "that today is a great attraction when enrolling their children in a center."
The mayor congratulated the school and Primary "El Recuerdo", the newest of the municipality and the only bilingual, for the three years of smooth operation of bilingual education in their classrooms, as well as other initiatives related to language as a European project, or the development of teaching materials in English together with the team of teachers from a center of Torre Pacheco.
