The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez and CEO of Sports, Antonio Peñalver late yesterday inaugurated the sports hall of La Manga and the development works at the entrances to the new service that is already at full capacity with over 200 subscribers .
The event was attended by all members of the government team, municipal and social representatives of La Manga, which toured the facilities equipped fitness room a multisport room, both with windows to the Mar Menor, multisport track with wooden floor , stands and spacious changing rooms, completed with three tennis paddle attached.
The development works of the pavilion, which has been a municipal investment of 157,287.90 euros, have involved the construction of streets, sidewalks and lighting, which connect the building with the rest of the urban entramo, creating parking spaces and then the promenade on the Mediterranean side.
All present agreed is noted that "today is a great day for La Manga" by the importance of the operation of this building that was five years paralyzed and almost finished, economic problems of the contractor, while growing the demand for a sports quality service in La Manga.
The Town Planning, Antonio Luengo explained the difficulty which has led to reactivate the work that began in 2006, paralyzed in 2008 "without the former local government to solve the problem."

The mayor of San Javier, Juan Martinez said that "today is a great day for La Manga. The Utilities Councilman Jose Miguel Luengo said it was "a historic day because it ends a long-awaited sports infrastructure for all".
Luengo announced other actions continue completing the recently inaugurated as the beach promenade linking Mistral Beach Prince with the sports hall.
The mayor of Sports, Carlos Albaladejo expressed satisfaction for the welcome that neighbors have given this new service, with over 200 subscribers, children, youth and adults who attend their activities each week.
Albaladejo said that there are four specialized monitors working in the pavilion, and a maintenance person "and we are already thinking how we can improve."
The mayor of Tourism, Antonio Martinez thanked the patience neighbors and employers have had this infrastructure.
Martinez reiterated the importance of sport tourism as a service and as a focal point, and pointed to watersport potential as a magnet for tour operators.
Also pedánea mayor, Rosa Dos Santos expressed his gratitude to the government team and neighbors for the great welcome they have given this service.
The round of speeches which closed the CEO of Sports, Antonio Peñalver who stressed the importance of providing, from the point of view of tourism, a safe place to practice sport in the best conditions.
Peñalver, that put San Javier as an example in sports policy, said the new facility will become dynamic sports center and a tourist resort at the same time.
