The Councillor for Sports, Carlos Albaladejo and the president of Club Swimming Master of Murcia, Agustín Pascual Riquelme presented today at the City of San Javier the I Challenge Swim Isla Grosa-Isla Hormiga, a journey of 10 kilometers offshore that is done for the first time and will take place on Sunday May 31 in La Manga del Mar Menor.
They include a total of 20 swimmers, all of them experienced, they will have to cover the travel, according to currents that can reach up to 11 kilometers at a maximum of 3 hours and 45 minutes.
The average age of participants is between 45 and 50 years.
Among the 20 swimmers registered there are 3 women, and 8 of them are older than 50 years.
Mostly they come from the Murcia region but there are also participants from Madrid, Almeria and Alicante.
Swimmers, supporters and the public who wishes may ship in the harbor Tomas Maestre from 07: 30h.
