The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo emphasized the importance of agriculture in the economy of the municipality and the region, and the role being played by cooperatives in the development of both production and marketing, while visiting Soltir, the cooperative located in San Cayetano, where he went invited to the closure of its General Assembly.
Luengo participated in the closing ceremony of the General Assembly, which was also attended by the Councillor for Agriculture, Antonio Luengo with Soltir president, Antonio Galindo, the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Adela Martinez Cacho and the Mayor of Torre Pacheco Josefina Marin.
The "Rock" Civil Guard team was honored for his work against theft in the field in the same act.
Soltir, which has 222 members, exceeded 44 million euros in volume of marketed production in the year 2014.
