From humble dish with fishermen took advantage of the remains of fishing with a handful of rice, the cauldron has become the king of the gastronomy of the Mar Menor and Murcia.
To promote the typical dish of the area and make it known as originally cooked by fishermen on the beach Day Cauldron was created as part of the festivities of Santiago de la Ribera and the collaboration of the Department of Trade.
This morning, fishermen experts in pots, a restaurant and daring individuals, including the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, cooked each their pot to public view, in the sand, on high heat and an iron cauldron , supported on a tripod cane.
The public could follow the process of cooking pots on Fisherman's Beach, where once completed have been tasted by hundreds of people who have not wanted to lose the opportunity to try the most typical dish of the local cuisine.
